Amphawa Floating Market Tours

This traveling post is a continued tour when my sister and brother in law came to visit us in January of this year. It's the  last post after we went to Ayuthaya, the former capital of Thailand.

We wanted to explore more of downtown and the outskirts of  Bangkok. So I arranged a tour through the Trip Advisor comments on an excellent tour guide we should hire. I think we intimidate her so she was OK. I know, I could've got it cheaper to get our own taxi and give the details to the driver. But since I wanted to a tourist, again for once, hahaha. The tour included: the Mae Klong Train Market, local ceramic shop, Bung Kung Temple and Ampawa floating market. Our interests was mainly the train and floating market.

On our way to our destination, we had a bowl of the best sliced roast pork and dumpling noodles shop near the Mae Klong Train Track Market. We had to stop for a mid morning snack right? To bad I don't remember the name of this place.

Here's me, even if I wasn't ready for the pose, standing on the train track market. The train would go by and all the vendors have to be ready and get the stuff they are selling off and take the covers down before the train come through. Then take it all out again. We didn't wait to see that as it was getting warmer so we proceed to the our next destination.

Then we stopped at a local ceramic shop that's been there for years. We got to see how it's being made, and you shop. We came out buying a vase and other nick knacks.

We headed to a local temple that one of the shrine has a tree overgrown on it.

Finally like by 4pm we got the Amphawa, walked around quite a bit with the crowds and seeing so many different shops selling to about everything to junk, cute cafes and home stays. And we stopped to have Thai ice lemon tea, without sugar please. It still came with sugar. The girl said she didn't put sugar in it. I told her to tasted it and she got annoyed so she didn't charge me for it.

We sat in front of these two main ladies one handing som tam to the buyers.

I don't think you can spot us, can you? About the food, mediocre. We had pork satay, som tam, pat thai and squid egg pancake with savory sauce. After eating there I kind of lost  my appetite. It's so commercialized but still a nice experience of the many floating markets around Thailand.
