The Last Day Of January

I'm lost on words today or the last few days. But my mind is full of them wanting to be writing down in pages, lines or a few paragraphs. It could be due to the jet lag but I think the worst has gone now. Have I been having fun? Yes, despite the feeling like my head could explode or seeing your loved one very sick. I do count the blessings that each day brings. What really brings me joy is taking pictures of others, nature and food. And the people that enjoys food with me. Sorry if this posts brings no point, I'm babbling. It gets me on words.

Tessa and I are down in SoCal now. Bruce's brother and sister in law picked us up while on their way down from Vacaville. My sister made a great lunch of pork carnitas, even when she was coming down with a fever. And an hour later we loaded up the car to be on our way to avoid the L.A. traffic. Which we did just fine. We arrived safely and I so dislike the unpacking that I left some of our stuff in the suitcase.

The best of the sunset in Tulare. Love the clouds and color.

My Mom giving Tessa last kisses and hugs before leaving. We are going to see you again in a few days Mom!

This was this afternoon at Little Ethiopia town in L.A. before going to see Rita at the hospital. Here we are having sambusa. It's an Ethiopian appetizer of like samosas but thinner in pastry and stuffed with lentils, onions and small sliced of green chili. We thought it was small like the menu but it's like the size of a sliced pizza! It was delicious! Tessa likes it. She was asking (screaming) for more injera and spiced lentils. You eat girl!

Then we visited with Rita for about an hour. Have you ever felted like you don't know what to say when visiting someone at the hospital? I know you should ask the normal but end up being like the doctors? Anyway, it was a good visit this afternoon. We heard that she's not doing too well so keep Bruce's family in your prayers. We all know that God's plan is far more better than we every imagine. But the 'better' comes with perseverance of the pain, struggle and endurance to hang on to get to it.

  1. Only He knows what is to come. I remind myself of that a lot lately.

And I think it's adorable that Tessa likes Ethiopian. We haven't been since Nora was a newborn, but she chows down on spicy Indian like it's her job! These girls are definitely going to have to be pen pals later!

I'll say a prayer for Rita. I know exactly what you mean about not knowing what to say. I always end up feeling like I was fake cheerful.

    1. Appreciate your prayers Kate. HE is sovereign and still awesome in the midst of trials.

Way to go for cute foodie Nora! We definitely have to let our girls be pen pals!
